Closing Out 2025 With Intention

Cassandra Dinh-Moore (she/her)

The end of the year offers something we rarely give ourselves - a space to pause. As we move toward a new year filled with evolving priorities, new opportunities, and an ever-shifting workplace landscape, this moment invites us to check in, realign, and choose how we want to grow in 2026.

Three themes are especially powerful right now:

Revisit What Still Matters and Release What Doesn’t

Many professionals carry goals forward simply because they once made sense. Yet one of the most meaningful forms of growth is the willingness to put something down.

Consider:

  • Which goals from earlier this year still align with who you’re becoming?
  • Which feel heavy, outdated, or rooted in obligation instead of purpose?
  • What matters most to the future version of you stepping into 2026?

Give yourself permission to release anything that’s no longer aligned with your direction.

Check Your Boundaries

One of the themes we explored this fall: boundaries aren’t barriers, they’re foundations. They don’t hold you back; they help you thrive.

Reflect on:

  • Where did I overextend myself this year?
  • When did I stay quiet instead of advocating for myself?
  • What is one boundary that would protect my energy next year?

Small commitments practiced consistently are what transform our professional lives.

Prepare for Transition With Intention

Whether you’re exploring a new path, stepping into leadership, or seeking more stability in your current role, the close of the year is the perfect moment to consider what kind of professional identity you want to build in 2026.

Ask yourself:

  • What strengths do I want to use more often?
  • What work energizes me and what drains me?
  • Which skills or habits would strengthen my confidence for the year ahead?

Transitions don’t start with job searches. They start with clarity.
